As a young woman just out of her teens, Gwen Gagne lived for a couple of years on an island off the west coast of Canada, with no running water or hydro.

This experience was both foundational and felt like a natural expression of who she was. Gwen is the same person when writing and making music today. Intensely open to the beauty and teachings of nature and life itself, the rightness of what is happening right NOW.

Gwen’s songs are tuneful and solidly written. Gwen’s daughter, California-based Electronic/Acoustic songwriter Sasha Rose, is one of several talented musicians playing on her albums. Gwen’s songs feature harmonica, flute, hand-drums, piano, sparkling guitars, rippling bass and, always, beautiful vocal harmonies.

Gwendolyn has been writing songs for 4 decades now. She regularly plays house concerts, many of these fund raisers for worthy causes, as well as concerts and club performances in British Columbia and Mexico. Her first CD “Quiet Joy” dates from 2007 and “Small Miracles” was released in March of this year.

Gwen has also been a massage therapist for 39 years and has a home practice on Salt Spring Island.
